DMX

Earl Simmons (December 18, 1970 - April 9 2021) was known as DMX was an American rapper and actor. His debut album , It's Dark and hot was released in 1998. He began rapping during the 1990s. 251,000 copies of the album were sold during its first week. In 1999, DMX released... and then there was X. It included the hit song "Party up (Up in Here). His 2003 singles, "Where is the Hood At?" The 2003 singles, "Where the Hood at?" and "X Gon"Make It to Ya" were commercially profitable. Also, he was the first artist who reached No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart five consecutive times. Seven times in all, DMX sold over 74 million records worldwide. [8] DMX has appeared in films like Belly, Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds. He was the lead character in DMX: Soul of a Man in the 2006 reality TV series. It was mostly telecast on the BET cable television network Never Die Alone. He released his autobiography, which was based on his memoirs, E.A.R.L. in 2003. The Autobiography of DMX. 9. DMX started in the music industry at 14 when he was a beatboxer with Ready Ron. After spending time in prison and writing lyrics, he began to write his own lyrics and performing at the recreation center in town for kids younger than him. In 1988, when he was in prison for carjacking he started dedicating a large portion of his free time writing lyrics , as well as meeting and rapping with K-Solo. He was released in summer of 1988 and started to release and market mixtapes of his own. In these mixes, he performed raps over songs by other artists and sold them on streets corners. This helped him build a fanbase in New York. Percee P and DMX each performed freestyles on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show, 1991. Jay-Z, Ja Rules, and Mic Gérardo appeared as guest performers on the underground classic "Time to Build" from Mic Geronimo in the year 1995.
