Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th in 1967. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation living in Atlanta from her farmer great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts. In the early years of his life, her dad became fascinated with acting. While he was a student at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he took part in many productions. When he joined the Air Force and appearing in an air force production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. Walter was an undergraduate at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they left the airforce and Walter began studying at Tulane. Walter worked with Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1960, the family relocated to Decatur Georgia. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local Saturday morning children's TV show known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed their own. The following year, they started The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for a period of six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
