Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Ohio, Columbus. She is considered by many to be among the top athletes. The 2016 Olympics were held at Rio de Janeiro and Biles became one of the U.S.'s only female gymnast to be awarded four gold medals. She also claimed the title of world champion for all-around, three times in succession (2013-15). Biles was raised in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time she and her sister Adria were adopted by their grandparents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone's interest in gymnastics began when she was just six years old, during a trip with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained under Aimee Borman as coach from 2011. Biles was awarded a gold medal in floor exercise and a bronze in vault during the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010 before breaking into the elite competition in the year 2011. She dominated her sport less than two year later. Her consistency, her vivacious character and her high level of difficulty for her four eventsvault uneven bars balance beam floor workout and floor exercises -- helped to set her above the others.
